post draft trade buys

The 2025 NFL Draft is complete, and dynasty trade targets are emerging as rookie arrivals and depth chart shifts reshape team outlooks. Now’s the perfect time to take advantage of shifting player values before training camp. Here are five players to target who could be game-changers in your dynasty league.

Dynasty Players to Trade For:

Jaylen Warren, RB, Pittsburgh Steelers

After serving as the RB2 role for the past three years for the Pittsburgh Steelers, Jaylen Warren now gets the chance to shine. Before the draft, the Steelers parted ways with Najee Harris as he went off to the Los Angeles Chargers. They brought in Kenneth Gainwell, who won’t be much competition for Warren from a volume standpoint. Heading into the draft, Warren and fantasy managers alike were hopeful they wouldn’t spend one of their first couple of picks on the position.

They did end up using a late third-round pick to get Iowa back Kaleb Johnson. This was a rather solid move by the Steelers. Warren should still retain the starting job in Pittsburgh despite them drafting Johnson. Jaylen Warren earned it because of his increase in production since entering the league. Warren is used to splitting duties, but now, his role will increase further, with him being the lead back.

Despite this increase in opportunities, Warren is still ranked outside the top 32 running backs in dynasty trade value. I’d take him over multiple people ahead of him, including Trey Benson, Travis Etienne, Cam Skattebo, and D’Andre Swift. With how low Warren is being ranked, now is the time to make a move before training camp begins, and it’s clear that he’s the #1 guy in the Steel City. I’d comfortably give a mid to late 2nd paired with a 4th rounder for Jaylen Warren.

Najee Harris, RB, Los Angeles Chargers

With the Chargers drafting Omarion Hampton in the first round, they made it clear that they have their running back of the future. This hurts the value of Najee Harris in dynasty and redraft formats. I’m passing on him in redraft leagues, but for dynasty formats, I love Harris, given how low his value is right now. Harris is ranked outside the top 32 running backs, and even for this season alone, he should finish as a top 25 back. In the last two years, he’s had to split duties with Jaylen Warren, where he still managed to have over 1,000 yards rushing every season.

Najee Harris is only on a one-year deal with the Chargers. This means that if he can prove himself out, while giving up duties to Hampton throughout the year, he can earn himself a longer deal somewhere else in the league. This is a make-or-break year for the 5th year back. I’m a big believer that he can do enough to earn a starter job next year. By buying low on Najee, I’m willing to give up a veteran wideout like Stefon Diggs, Cooper Kupp, or Davante Adams to a team that has him. These wide receivers still provide value now in the short run for someone taking them on, and nets us a high-risk, high-reward player.

Malik Nabers, WR, New York Giants

Last season, Malik Nabers finished as WR7 on the year. This was with the combination of Daniel Jones, Drew Lock, Tim Boyle, and Tommy DeVito at quarterback. This year, the Giants added Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston in free agency. Both these quarterbacks have cannons for arms that strengthen their wide receivers around them in fantasy. If one of these two or both are in at quarterback for the season,  Nabers should finish as a top 5 receiver. Those quarterbacks are older, which explains why the Giants drafted Jaxson Dart in the first round.

Dart was my favorite quarterback of the draft and someone I can see playing in New York for many years. Dart can develop behind the two veteran quarterbacks and grow his game. With Dart as the quarterback of the future in the Meadowlands, I can see him & Nabers making a connection. With the upgrade in quarterback situation, Nabers is right there with Justin Jefferson and Ja’Marr Chase as a top 3 receiver in the league for the foreseeable future. To land Nabers, I’d be willing to give up many assets, even if it means I have to overpay. Nabers is worth multiple 1st round picks & then some. He’s a top 4 positional player in dynasty. To get someone who’s already performing at a high level and is only entering their 2nd year in the league, it is worth the haul.

Marvin Mims Jr, WR, Denver Broncos

The Denver Broncos whiffed on getting a top receiver in the draft and ended up selecting Pat Bryant out of Illinois in the third round. Bryant was rather low on my list of rookie wideouts. I don’t see him making much of an impact in year one. Bryant is not going to take away much from the top two wideouts, Courtland Sutton and Marvin Mims Jr. With the Broncos passing on a top wideout, this puts Mims Jr in a prime position to overtake Sutton as the #1 wide receiver on the team.

After a slow start to the season, Mims Jr finished the season on a high note. He recorded over 300 yards and five touchdowns in the last five games of the season. During this same span, quarterback Bo Nix was putting up some of his best numbers. The connection developed late between the two, but I am very high on Mims Jr for how low he is being ranked. I don’t see him putting up 1,000-yard seasons anytime soon, but he should continue to increase his stats as his connection and opportunities improve. I’d invest a 3rd round pick or a 3rd & a mid-fourth to acquire him. His value is very low right now, and if you can land him for a couple of picks, I’d take that deal all day.

Jake Ferguson, TE, Dallas Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys did not sign any wide receivers or tight ends before the draft. They also failed to draft either, which was surprising considering their offense struggled. They did sign running back Javonte Williams and added a couple of running backs late in the draft. In a shocking post-draft move, the Cowboys pulled off a fleecing of a trade for George Pickens to support quarterback Dak Prescott. I still believe that with Dak Prescott back from injury, he is going to go back to what he knows best. That’s CeeDee Lamb & Jake Ferguson. The four best games that Jake Ferguson had on the season were all before Dak Prescott got hurt.

Once the Cowboys turned to Cooper Rush, it went all downhill from there for Ferguson and the entirety of the Cowboys’ offense. With Dak Prescott back under center and these two remaining as the top guys on the offense from previous seasons, they’re bound for bounce-back years. For Ferguson specifically, he’s being ranked around the 12-16 mark for tight ends. I can see him finishing around the TE6-TE9 range. With how weak the tight end position is, I’d look to give up an above-average backup running back or mid-tier wide receiver for him. A couple of players that fit the bill would be like a Rachaad White or a Jakobi Meyers level player.
