Fantasy Football Week 5: Players to Buy

Fantasy Football Week 5: Players to Buy

As Week 5 approaches, it’s time to make some key trades that can set you up for success in the rest of the fantasy football season. The Professor has shared some prime buy-low candidates who could deliver great value as the season progresses. Here are three players to target this week.

1. J.K. Dobbins (RB, Los Angeles Chargers)

J.K. Dobbins is quietly putting together a solid season, and now is the perfect time to grab him before his value skyrockets. Despite concerns about his health in previous years, Dobbins has looked strong this season. He’s dominating touches in the Chargers’ backfield, seeing more than 65% of the snap share, and his involvement has only been increasing, with over 70% in Week 4.

Currently, Dobbins is a top-15 RB in fantasy, and the Chargers’ most difficult part of the schedule is behind them. Looking ahead, Dobbins has one of the top three running back schedules for the rest of the season. As the Chargers’ offense continues to sync up, Dobbins is in line to benefit from consistent opportunities.

Why Buy? Dobbins is healthy, seeing a large snap share, and faces a favorable schedule moving forward. Grab him before his value climbs even higher.

2. Trey McBride (TE, Arizona Cardinals)

The tight end position has been rough this year, but Trey McBride is a player who could give you a significant advantage. McBride missed Week 4 due to a concussion, which has created a small buy window. He’s been one of the league leaders in routes run and target share at the tight end position, which puts him in elite company.

While McBride’s stats haven’t been eye-popping yet, his underlying metrics show that he’s heavily involved in the Cardinals’ passing game. If you’re struggling at tight end, McBride is a solid option who could outperform his current value for the rest of the season.

Why Buy? McBride is running a high number of routes and getting targets, making him a potential difference-maker at a position that lacks depth.

3. Devon Achane (RB, Miami Dolphins)

Devon Achane is an RB1 talent who has been slowed down by injuries to the Dolphins’ offense, particularly to quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. Achane has shown flashes of brilliance, but the Dolphins have struggled to find consistency without their starting QB. That said, Achane has a fantastic talent profile and a favorable rest-of-season schedule.

If you can hold on for a couple of weeks, the Dolphins have a bye in Week 6, and Tua is expected to return around Week 8. Achane’s value is currently at its lowest, and once Miami’s offense is back on track, he could become a major asset. This is a rare opportunity to buy low on a player with elite upside.

Why Buy? Achane’s value is low due to the Dolphins’ offensive struggles, but he has the talent and schedule to deliver top-tier fantasy production once things stabilize.

These three players—J.K. Dobbins, Trey McBride, and Devon Achane—are excellent targets to bolster your roster heading into Week 5 and beyond. Buy them now while their value is low and get ready to reap the rewards as the season unfolds.
